The Momi Development on the main island of Viti Levu, Fiji, aims to be a major resort which integrates tourism with retail, residential and infrastructure facilities. Architects Pacific were master planners for the project, and architects for the 5-star quality JW Marriott hotel (the first of 4 planned hotels), the Golf Clubhouse and the water front bures. Extreme care was taken to protect the marine environment, and subsequent testing showed an improvement in the health of the reef, due to a reduction in runoff of silt.
Financial and political factors combined to halt production, leaving the JW Marriott Hotel, the Golf Clubhouse and the bures incomplete and facing an uncertain future. Architects Pacific, together with four international architects, produced house plans for specific types of residential sections available for purchase.
